Kincardine competition 2008
Penetangore Pipe Band

The Penetangore Pipe Band provides an opportunity for  pipers and drummers in the Grey-Bruce-Huron area of Ontario, Canada and beyond to perform together in a competitive venue.

Intended to be a forum for the region’s many world-class pipers and drummers to share their talents with aspiring players and young people, Penetangore's purpose is to enhance the art form of pipes and drums in its region. Sustaining an organization that can successfully compete at the North American Championship Highland Games and the World Championship Highland Games is the best way to measure progress.

Named after a river that is not far from where the band practices in Kincardine, Penetangore is pronounced Pen-ne-tang-gore. It is believed to originate from an Ojibwa word that Scottish settlers understood to mean “river with sand on one side.”
